Located in Merida, Mexico 3angle is designed for a couple. Materials predominantly consist of concrete, offering durability, thermal mass, and low maintenance requirements. Additionally, recycled and locally sourced materials are utilized wherever possible, reducing transportation emissions, and supporting the local economy.
The interplay between light and shadow is a crucial design element. The architectural composition incorporates various forms, and angles, that create dynamic patterns throughout the day. The strategic placement of openings allows for the play of light and shadow to animate interior spaces.
3angle is strategically positioned to maximize natural daylight and minimize unwanted heat gain. Large, strategically placed windows and skylights allow ample natural light to permeate the interior spaces. Vegetation is integrated to protect the interior from direct sunlight and to promote passive cooling, ensuring optimal thermal comfort.
